Seems like a long, long time ago since I started the holster business. Where I started and where I’m at now has been quite an amazing journey. I recall in 1989 going to the post office in Calabasas and opening my mailbox and for the first time several letters containing orders from a small ad I placed in “Police Magazine”. Talk about being thrilled! I was happy to see that I was being compensated for making a quality holster with my hands but most of all I was profoundly grateful that there were people who believed in me . Now fast forward to today and you will still find me making my holsters one at a time and extremely thankful for all of my customers who continue to believe in me . Doesn’t get better than that!

Time for Reflection
It has been a while since I made a entry and wanted to let everyone out there that I’m still around and still diligently working on my orders for my customers. Seems like there is not enough hours in the day to do what is needed to be done. Just wanted to express my gratitude to all of those individuals who have purchased my holsters by saying thank you. Hope the upcoming year is filled with peace and prosperity for all of you and your families.
All the best,
Robert Mika

Plans for the future
Hello Everyone,
Making plans for the future of my business. Till now I have been operating on a small scale but now I want to take it to the next level. I know now that the world lies at my feet and there is no better time than now to introduce to the rest of the world the best most functional pocket holster on the market today. No bragging, just the facts. Unlike some of the “big corporations” that have unlimited resources at their disposal to advertise their merchandise I do not . However I feel I have something that is bigger, better and greater.. What is that one may ask? Well it is simply all of you who have chosen to carry their firearm in one of my holsters. I cannot begin to describe the feeling I get knowing that what I made with my own two hands might be instrumental in saving someones life if a situation arose where an individual was forced to use their firearm in the defense of their life. Nothing is better than making a positive difference in someones life. Nothing! With everyone’s continuous support I plan to work long and hard to provide you only the best and most functional pocket holster as long as I’m alive on this planet.
Most Respectively,
Robert Mika

Change is coming
Hello Everyone,
It has been a while since I updated all of you out there regarding my holster business. Big change coming in June as I will be turning 65 . Besides making holsters I have been working another full time job at night to pay for my health insurance. Not complaining but it has not allowed me to focus “all” of my time to my passion, namely making holsters. Well that is about to change and can’t describe how elated I am about this momentous shift. Can’t describe how much personal satisfaction I feel providing you, my customers with only the best holsters I can make. I want to thank all of you for your support and look forward to serving your holster needs well into the future.
All the Best

upcoming site update
Hello Everyone,
Just wanted to give a update regarding a update on the website coming up very soon. It was brought to my attention recently about a lack of clarity regarding the turn around time once a order is placed. It is presently at twelve weeks and that point will be clearly pointed out on the web site once the adjustment is made. I take a lot of pride in making my holsters and since they are made one at a time, it takes time to complete all the orders that I have been receiving . I will not compromise quality for quantity which is often the case when a company goes into warp drive to make a product and quality becomes secondary. I want of my customers to have only the best of what I can make and nothing less. So, if you prefer the best pocket holster on the market today and are willing to wait then you have come to the right place.
One customers comments
Hello Everyone,
Thought I would like to share this customers (David Bryden) message that I just received
Received my holster for my Glock 43 about a month ago and couldn’t be happier. The holster is exceptionally well made, fits the gun well and is comfortable to carry. Thanks for a great product. There is one problem however; now I need to order more to replace the big factory products that look, feel and carry like “crap” compared to yours. Oh well, sometimes it takes trial and error to find the best and now I know what the best looks like. Wish I had your holster when I was still working in LE. . Thanks. Dave |
history on Mika’s Pocket Holsters
Having been in the holster business for 35 years I thought I would tell you all how it all started . Back around 1984 I came up with my pocket holster design which I knew was better than anything available on the market place. While I was member of the Los Angeles Police Department and assigned to uniformed patrol at Van Nuys division, I made up a dozen or so pocket holsters and gave them to my fellow officers and asked them to test the holster out while their were in the field and then complete a questionnaire. There was one particular officer who declined and told me that I was not going to get anywhere with my holsters. He went on to say that there were too many “big companies” out there and it would be impossible to compete with them. Being very passionate about my holsters, I took his statement as a challenge. I proceeded to drive nearly 400 miles the following Saturday throughout 3 counties in Southern California visiting some 30 or so gun stores. Every store manager sent me back out their door except one . His name was Charlie Webberly. He and he alone thought I had a functional pocket holster unlike anything he had seen. Subsequently , he ordered 6 holsters and then informed me he would get back to me if he needed more. Well, I went out his door just beaming with confidence thinking this was it. Days went by and I heard nothing. Weeks went by and I heard nothing but finally after 4 months of waiting, Mr. Webberly called and told me that he left the gun store and was now manager at the Los Angeles Police Revolver and Athletic Club and wanted to order 50 of my pocket holsters. This was the beginning of what I envisioned. Mr. Webberly believed in me and I was encouraged to muster on . That is exactly what I did and now after all these years and all the people who had faith in me and my holsters, I want to express a most heartfelt thank you. I look forward to provide you with your holster needs far into the future.
Cordially,
Robert Mika
